Updated Travel Restrictions – May 19th, 2020

Due to the extraordinary circumstance of the COVID-19 outbreak, The Government of the Bahamas has restricted air transport into and throughout The Bahamas. Odyssey Aviation has received approval from The Competent Authority to remain open and operational with specific guidelines. Kindly note the operating hours listed below are for Odyssey Aviation locations (MYNN, MYEF, MYSM, MYEM & MYER). Questions with reference to airports outside of these locations and other inquiries should be directed to BCAA.

In order to keep you informed of The Bahamas protocols and Odyssey Aviation operations during this time, please find updated details below.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL FLIGHTS, INTERNATIONAL OR DOMESTIC REQUIRE APPROVAL FROM THE COMPETENT AUTHORITY PRIOR TO OPERATION. KINDLY REPLACE EMAIL charles.beneby@bcaa.gov.bs with covid19info@bcaabahamas.com.

PERMITTED (WEEKDAYS) – INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE CHARTER FLIGHTS ARRIVING EMPTY TO COLLECT PASSENGERS. REQUEST WILL BE REVIEWED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS FOR AIRCRAFTS- TO ENTER TO COLLECT PASSENGERS. Pilot(s) are to remain with the aircraft at all times. All paperwork will be presented to the crew onboard/at the aircraft. Once all formalities are completed, passengers will be escorted to aircraft.
- May 18^th – May 22^nd, 2020 from 0800L/1200UTC – 1600L/2000UTC.
- May 25^th – May 29^th, 2020 from 0800L/1200UTC – 1600L/2000UTC.

PERMITTED (WEEKDAYS) – CITIZENS OF THE BAHAMAS, RESIDENTS OF THE BAHAMAS OR A HOMEOWNER IN THE BAHAMAS WISHING TO ENTER THE BAHAMAS FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY – REQUEST MUST BE MADE TO THE COMPETENT AUTHORITY covid19info@bcaabahamas.com (SEE INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS HERE) . THE REQUIRED APPROVAL TO ENTER THE BAHAMAS MUST BE RECEIVED PRIOR TO TRAVEL.

- May 25^th – May 29^th, 2020 from 0800L/1200UTC – 1600L/2000UTC

PERMITTED (WEEKDAYS) – CARGO & COURIER FLIGHTS. Flight crews are to remain with the aircraft at all times. All paperwork will be presented to the crew onboard the aircraft.

PERMITTED – US Military, emergency medical flights. Flight crews are to remain with the aircraft at all times. All paperwork will be presented to the crew onboard the aircraft (No Date Restrictions).

PERMITTED – INTER-ISLAND MEDICAL EMERGENCY FLIGHTS prior approval from The Competent Authority is required (No Date Restrictions).

RESTRICTION – COUNTRY IS CLOSED TO INCOMING VISITORS – No passenger shall be permitted to enter and disembark for any reason including transiting through the Bahamas. All aerodromes including private aerodromes and fixed-based operators shall be closed to incoming international flights carrying visitors except with prior written permission from the appropriate authority.

RESTRICTION ON DOMESTIC TRAVEL – INTER ISLAND TRAVEL FOR FAMILY ISLAND RESIDENTS (SEE ATTACHED. FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIST WWW.OPM.GOV.BS). The Government will introduce a ‘COVID-19 Travel Authorization Card’ to allow individuals to travel to Family Islands.

RESTRICTION – CLOSED – NO PERSON SHALL OFFER FOR HIRE OR SEEK TO TRAVEL ON ANY DOMESTIC INTER-ISLAND FLIGHTS (WEEKENDS).

AFTER-HOUR OPERATIONS – REQUEST FOR FLIGHTS WILL BE REVIEWED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS – INBOUND OR OUTBOUND. PRIOR APPROVAL FOR OPERATION IS REQUIRED.
